Laureen Gay Jones served 36 years as a former Franklin County Schools Career Technical Educator Director. In this role, she implemented several new programs, Advanced Manufacturing, Biotechnology and an Agriculture program offered at one of the middle schools. She was awarded several grants: Golden Leaf, Governors Innovation and the former Career Technical Education Enhancement, Franklin County Schools (NC) totaling 3 million dollars. She retired in 2019 and has served and continues to serve on numerous business, education, and professional development boards; Kerr-Tar Workforce Development Board, Committee 100, United Way and Chamber of Commerce. She holds an ED.S. in School Administration Occupational Curriculum from North Carolina State University, and her M.A. in School Counseling from North Carolina Central University, and her B.A. in Student Personnel Services from Bennett College. She has been married for 43 years to Cedric K. Jones Sr. and have two children Lauren S. Jones and Cedric K. Jones Jr
